Paid parking or free?

In Dutch towns some streets are paid and some are free, and the sign is easy to walk past. ParkWijs watches where you park, and speaks up when it matters.

An alarm that keeps ringing

On iOS 26.1 and later, with Alarms allowed, the alarm rings until you stop it, through silent mode and Focus. On older iOS, or with Alarms not allowed, it is a notification that comes back after 5 and 10 minutes.

Does your permit count here?

If you hold a resident permit, ParkWijs checks whether the spot is inside your own permit area, and whether your permit counts there right now.

A second alarm when paid hours start

Park at 08:50 in a zone paid from 09:00 and it rings again at 09:00.

Any parking app, no account

You pay in the parking app you already use. ParkWijs copies the zone code and opens your app. No account, no sign-up.

What it does

Check this spot

Ask whether you have to pay where you are now, without parking first.

Ask Siri

“Do I have to pay here with ParkWijs?” Also in Shortcuts.

Zone code, ready to paste

The zone and what it costs, with the zone code copied for your parking app: EasyPark, Yellowbrick, Flitsmeister, Q-Park, ANWB Onderweg or another app.

Why, and when it changes

The zone, the week's paid hours and the pay meters nearby, with walking directions.

A drive-off reminder

One notification that your session may still be running. Parking again cancels it.

The zone on your lock screen

After a paid verdict, the zone and your parking time can stay on the lock screen.

A map of paid parking

Paid areas shaded by price, with parking garages and pay meters you can tap.

Checked city by city

Each city shows how well its data has been checked. If a verdict looks wrong, report it with “This looks wrong”, from the spot, in an email you read before you send it.

Up to three cars

ParkWijs knows your car by its Bluetooth or CarPlay connection, and remembers up to three.

What it is, and what it isn't

It is

  • +A check: paid, free, or inside your own permit area.
  • +An alarm that rings until you stop it. On older iOS, or with Alarms not allowed, it repeats at 5 and 10 minutes.
  • +The zone code, copied and ready to paste.
  • +€1,99 a month after a free first month. It renews by itself; cancel any time in your iPhone's Settings.

It isn't

  • −A payment app. Yours still does that.
  • −The sign at the kerb. That is what you are held to.
  • −Certain. Data goes stale and phones sleep.

Worth knowing

Rules come from the Dutch national parking register, which is better in some towns than others and can be wrong. The sign at the kerb is what counts.

Alerts depend on your iPhone. A permission off, a low battery, or iOS pausing the app in the background, and an alert can be late or not arrive. Don't make it your only reminder.

ParkWijs is provided as-is, and it cannot take on liability for fines or fees. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected. Details in the terms.
